How many margaritas does a margarita machine make?

One bottle of our margarita mix makes about 75 frozen drinks of 8 ounces. Daiquiri, piña colada, and most fruit slushie mixes make about 50. One 2-bowl machine serves up to 100 guests, and you can keep refilling it all party long. For more than 100 guests, add a second machine so one can freeze while the other pours.
Use the calculator below, or read on for the numbers.
Based on margarita mixes: about 75 drinks of 8 oz and 1½ to 2 bottles of tequila each. Daiquiri and most fruit mixes make about 50, so order a little more. Unopened mixes are refunded at pickup.
The party math
| Guests | Machines | Mixes to order | Margaritas those mixes make |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 25 | 1 | 1 to 2 | 75 to 150 |
| 26 to 50 | 1 | 2 to 3 | 150 to 225 |
| 51 to 100 | 1 | 3 to 5 | 225 to 375 |
| 101 to 200 | 2 | 6 to 10 | 450 to 750 |
| 201 to 300 | 3 | 9 to 15 | 675 to 1,125 |
Using daiquiri or fruit slushie mixes? They make about 50 drinks each, so add a mix or two.
These ranges follow our own guide: up to 50 guests, plan on 1 to 3 mixes; 50 to 100 guests, 3 to 5 mixes. Bigger crowds scale the same way per 100 guests.
Why order a little extra
Return any unopened mix when we pick up the machine and we refund it in full. Running out halfway through the party is the only real mistake, so round up.
How much alcohol per mix
Each mix takes 1 to 2 bottles (1.75 liter) of alcohol. For a classic margarita, our recipe is 1 bottle of mix, 1½ bottles of tequila, and 3½ gallons of water in a 5 gallon jug. See all our frozen drink recipes.
Two flavors per machine
Each machine has two freezing bowls, so you can split your mixes between two flavors. A common setup is a margarita in one bowl and a kid-friendly slushie in the other. Browse all 33 flavors.
