Margarita machine vs slushie machine
Margarita machine vs slushie machine: it is the same machine, and the mix decides the drink. Compare flavors, batches, and how to serve adults and kids at once.

In the margarita machine vs slushie machine question, the answer is simple: it's the same machine, and the mix decides the drink. Every mix is alcohol-free until you add alcohol, so one machine pours frozen margaritas for adults and slushies for kids.

How one machine does both
Our frozen drink machines have two bowls side by side. Each bowl freezes whatever you pour in. Pour a batch of margarita mix, water, and tequila, and you get frozen margaritas. Pour a slushie mix and water with no alcohol, and you get a kids slushie. The machine works the same way either time. To see what happens inside, read how a slushie machine works.
The mix decides
We carry 33 mixes in four groups: margaritas, tropical and daiquiris, wine and bubbly, and slushies and kid favorites. Any of them can pour as a slushie if you skip the alcohol. A lime margarita mix without tequila tastes like a tart lime slushie, and a blue raspberry mix with vodka or rum becomes an adult drink. Browse every flavor on our flavors page.
Run both at once
The most popular family setup puts a margarita in one bowl and a slushie in the other:
- Lime margarita and blue raspberry slushie
- Strawberry margarita and lemonade slushie
- Piña colada and strawberry slushie
Label each bowl so guests know which one has alcohol. Use different cup colors for kids and adults, and keep the margarita side away from the kids' area.
Honest tradeoffs
- A margarita bowl is for adults only. Once you add alcohol, that bowl needs a clear label and an adult watching it.
- Slushie mixes make fewer drinks. Most fruit slushie mixes make about 50 drinks, compared with about 75 for a margarita mix, so plan an extra mix for a big kids crowd.
- Two bowls, two flavors. If you want a margarita, a slushie, and a third flavor, rent a second machine. Two or three machines give you up to six flavors, and one machine serves up to 100 guests.
On cost
A margarita and a slushie cost the same to rent, since it's the same machine. Your total depends on how many machines and mixes you choose. For an all-kids party, see our kids party slushie machine rental, then price your party for an exact quote.

Questions
Is a margarita machine the same as a slushie machine?
Yes. Our two-bowl frozen drink machines make both. The mix and whether you add alcohol decide the drink.
Can I make margaritas and slushies at the same time?
Yes. Run a margarita in one bowl and a kids slushie in the other. Label each bowl so guests know which has alcohol.
Do slushie mixes make fewer drinks than margarita mixes?
A margarita mix makes about 75 frozen drinks of 8 oz. Daiquiri, piña colada, and most fruit slushie mixes make about 50.
