Two-flavor margarita machine set up for a party with balloons

A slushie machine fits almost any kids party in Austin and Central Texas: every one of our 33 mixes is alcohol-free until you add alcohol, so both bowls can pour kids slushies. Here are setup, flavor, and labeling tips for nine kinds of kids events.

The basics for every kids event

  • One two-bowl machine pours two flavors at once and serves up to 100 guests. Bigger events rent 2 or 3 machines, for up to six flavors.
  • We deliver, set up 2 to 3 hours before the party, show you how it works, then pick up and clean.
  • The first batch takes 2 to 3 hours to freeze. You don't need ice.
  • Plan for a standard 110 volt outlet on its own circuit, a sturdy table or our rolling machine cart, and a garden hose and water source ready when we arrive.
  • Most fruit slushie mixes make about 50 frozen drinks of 8 oz.
  • Online booking needs 2 days' notice.

Birthday parties

Setup. Put the machine near the cake table but out of the path between the back door and the bounce house. A counter or sturdy table works, or rent our rolling cart so you don't need one.

Flavor ideas. Match the party colors. Blue Raspberry and Cherry work for a superhero theme, Strawberry and Vanilla give you pink and white, and Green Sour Apple and Orange Dreamsicle suit a dinosaur or jungle party. Browse all 33 flavors.

Labeling. Tape a card to each bowl with the flavor name and a dot of its color so younger kids can point. If the grownups want a margarita in one bowl, write "Adults only" in big letters on that side and keep an adult nearby.

School carnivals

Setup. Plan power near the booth first. At a public park, you need a generator of at least 3,500 watts per outlet. We can't set up on rock or gravel, so pick pavement, a sidewalk, or a covered area. Staff the booth with two volunteers per shift: one pours, one hands out cups and straws.

Flavor ideas. Pour your school colors. Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Lemonade, Green Sour Apple, and Orange Mango cover most mascots. Rent 2 or 3 machines for a big carnival so one bowl can freeze while another pours.

Labeling. Hang a sign the whole line can read, with the flavor on each side. Add "All slushies" so parents know the booth is alcohol-free.

Team parties

Setup. End-of-season parties often land at a park pavilion or a coach's backyard. At a park, ask the reservations office about outlets, and bring a generator of at least 3,500 watts per outlet if there's no power. Keep an ice chest close for water bottles; we rent ice chests from 120 to 150 quarts.

Flavor ideas. Use team colors, or let the players vote. Fruit Punch, Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, and Cherry Limeade are easy wins after a hot game.

Labeling. Hand out a marker and have each player write a name and number on a cup. The Party Package includes 50 cups and straws, and extra cups and straws come in packs of 50.

VBS and church camp

Setup. A fellowship hall or kitchen counter works well. Use an outlet on its own circuit and keep the coffee maker and microwave off it. You can book multi-day rentals of up to 7 days online, so one machine can cover a full week of Vacation Bible School.

Flavor ideas. Pick two crowd favorites, such as Blue Raspberry and Lemonade, and order enough mixes for every day. Unopened mixes are refunded at pickup, so ordering a little extra costs you nothing if you don't open it.

Labeling. Give each flavor a name that matches your VBS theme, like "Ocean Wave" for Blue Raspberry, and print the real flavor name underneath for parents.

Trunk-or-treat and fall festivals

Setup. Our machines are booked out Oct 29 to Nov 2, 2026, so plan your event for Oct 23 to 28 or Nov 3 to 20. Late November is booked out too (Nov 21 to Dec 3). A paved church lot or school parking lot works well; skip gravel.

Flavor ideas. Green Sour Apple makes a spooky potion, Orange Dreamsicle fills pumpkin-colored cups, and Cherry Bomb looks great next to blue.

Labeling. Fun names like "Witch's Brew" are part of the show; just keep the real flavor name on the sign. Get the full plan in our fall festival slushie machine guide.

Sensory-friendly parties

Setup. Place the machine in a calm corner, away from speakers and the main walkway, so kids can come to it on their own time. Let a helper pour small servings so no one has to work the handle in a crowd.

Flavor ideas. Familiar, mild flavors work best: Lemonade, Strawberry, Vanilla, or Cherry. To cut down on choices, put the same flavor in both bowls. If a child has a food allergy or diet needs, ask the parent and check with us about the mix before you pick.

Labeling. Use a picture label with the flavor's color, and list the flavors on the invite so kids know what to expect before they arrive.

Sleepovers

Setup. A kitchen counter is the easy spot. Make sure the outlet is on its own circuit, with the refrigerator and microwave on a different one. Same-day drop-off and pickup is an option if you want the machine gone before bedtime.

Flavor ideas. Strawberry Banana, Cherry Limeade, and Orange Dreamsicle make a fun movie-night lineup.

Labeling. Let each guest decorate a cup with a name. Kids love refilling their own cup.

Teacher appreciation

Setup. A staff lounge or library table works. Ask the front office where the machine can plug in on its own circuit, and keep both bowls alcohol-free on campus. Same-day drop-off and pickup keeps the room clear for the next day.

Flavor ideas. Lemonade, Strawberry Kiwi, Peach, and Mocha Cappuccino give staff something a little different from the usual cookies.

Labeling. Add a "Thank you, teachers" sign above the machine and name each bowl after a school tradition.

Graduations

Setup. Kindergarten, fifth grade, eighth grade, and high school parties often mix kids and grownups. A backyard or covered patio with a sturdy table and a dedicated outlet is all you need.

Flavor ideas. Pour the school colors, or pair a Lime margarita for the adults with a Blue Raspberry slushie for the kids.

Labeling. When one bowl is a margarita and one is a slushie, label each bowl clearly and keep an adult at the margarita side.

Questions

Can a margarita machine make slushies for kids?

Yes. Every one of our 33 mixes is alcohol-free until you add alcohol, so any flavor works as a kids slushie. For a kids-only party, fill both bowls with slushies.

How many kids does one slushie machine serve?

One two-bowl machine serves up to 100 guests. Most fruit slushie mixes make about 50 frozen drinks of 8 oz, so order enough mixes for your crowd.

How do I keep kids away from the margarita side?

Label each bowl clearly when one is a margarita and one is a slushie, and keep an adult at the margarita side. For a kids event, the simplest choice is slushies in both bowls.

Can I rent a slushie machine for a whole week of VBS?

Yes. You can book multi-day rentals of up to 7 days online. Order enough mixes for the week; unopened mixes are refunded at pickup.
