Holiday drink station ideas for a frozen drink machine

The best holiday drink station ideas start with the machine as your centerpiece: set it on a sturdy table near its own outlet, dress it in garland and lights that stay clear of the outlet and vents, and add a rim bar and clear bowl labels. Put one festive flavor for grownups in one bowl and an alcohol-free slushie for kids in the other, and the station decorates itself.
Guests gather where the drinks are, so a little effort here goes a long way. This guide covers the holiday touches. For the full playbook on placement, centerpieces, and balloons, see our party decorations hub.
Pick a holiday color plan
Start with two or three colors and repeat them on the tablecloth, napkins, cups, and signs.
- Classic Christmas: red, green, and gold. Pair Strawberry Margarita with Lime Margarita so the bowls match the decor.
- Winter wonderland: white, silver, and ice blue. Vanilla and Blue Raspberry look like snow and ice.
- Cozy and warm: brown, cream, and copper. Mocha Cappuccino makes a frozen coffee drink that feels like dessert.
- Festival of lights: blue, silver, and gold, with lanterns and battery candles.

Dress the machine bar
The machine is the star, so give it a clean stage.
- Base: a sturdy table, counter, or our rolling machine cart. Skip flimsy card tables.
- Tablecloth: a vinyl or plastic cloth in a holiday color wipes clean after drips.
- Garland: drape it along the front edge of the table or the cart, never over the machine. Keep it clear of the outlet and the vents.
- Lights: string lights on the wall or fence behind the station. Plug them into a different circuit from the machine, because each machine needs a dedicated 110 volt, 15 amp outlet. Our guide to power for a frozen drink machine explains why.
- Cups and straws: stack them at one end so guests flow in one direction, with napkins and a trash can close by.
Build a holiday rim bar
A rim bar turns a drink into a small treat. Set out shallow plates with lime wedges and these rims:
- Peppermint Cocktail Sugar on Mocha Cappuccino or Vanilla
- Chocolate Cocktail Sugar on Strawberry Margarita or kids cups
- Lime Margarita Salt on Lime Margarita
Add mini candy canes, crushed peppermint, or lime wheels for garnish. Our margarita rim guide has more pairings.
Give kids their own bowl
Every mix is alcohol-free until you add alcohol, so the kids side is easy. Fill one bowl with Vanilla and rim the cups with Peppermint Cocktail Sugar for a snowball slushie. Cherry or Green Sour Apple gives kids a red or green choice.
Label each bowl in big letters. Print free leaded and unleaded bowl labels in your flavor colors, and set the kids side at the end of the table closest to their games. If grownups and kids both want two flavors, rent a second machine and keep one just for kids.
Holiday drink station ideas for guests
A few extras keep the line moving and the mood up:
- A chalkboard drink menu with each bowl's flavor and rim
- A photo spot near the station, with props like Santa hats and oversized ornaments
- A cookie tray or hot chocolate for guests who want something warm
- An ugly sweater contest with prizes at the drink table (ideas in our ugly sweater party guide)
Our holiday party theme page has full bowl pairings, food, games, and printables, and our Christmas party frozen drinks guide adds recipes.
Dates and setup
We are booked out Nov 21 to Dec 3, 2026, so plan a holiday party for Nov 3 to 20, or for Dec 4 or later. Online booking needs at least 2 days' notice.
One machine serves up to 100 guests. We deliver, set up, and show you how it works, then pick up and clean the machine. The first batch takes 2 to 3 hours to freeze, so decorate around the machine while it chills, and have a garden hose and water source ready when we arrive. Make a matching invitation with our free party invite maker.
