Classic fiesta party theme
Plan a classic fiesta party theme around a margarita machine: bright colors, lime and strawberry bowls, a salt rim, a kids slushie bowl, food, and games.

A classic fiesta party theme centers on a margarita machine with Lime and Strawberry Margarita in the two bowls, bright papel picado colors, and a salted rim. Swap one bowl for a Watermelon slushie and the kids get their own frozen drink too.
The look
Go bold and bright. A fiesta palette is red, green, yellow, hot pink, and turquoise, all at once.
- String papel picado banners above the drink table and across the patio.
- Use a striped serape style runner under the machine.
- Fill jars with paper flowers in every color.
- Add a few potted cactus or succulents as centerpieces.
- Hang a piñata where everyone can see it, then save it for later.
The green and pink of lime and strawberry margaritas already match the palette, so the machine becomes part of the decor.
The two bowls
The classic pair is the most popular for a reason: Lime Margarita was in about 63% of our 2025 orders and Strawberry Margarita in 27%.
| Option | Bowl 1 | Bowl 2 |
|---|---|---|
| The classic | Lime Margarita | Strawberry Margarita |
| Fruit forward | Mango Margarita | Lime Margarita |
| Tropical twist | Pineapple Margarita | Strawberry Margarita |
Kids slushie bowl
Every mix is alcohol-free until you add alcohol. For a family fiesta, keep Lime Margarita in one bowl and fill the other with Watermelon or Cherry Limeade, left alcohol-free. Label each bowl clearly. For a big crowd, rent a second machine and give the kids two slushie flavors.
Rim and garnish
- Lime Margarita Salt on the lime bowl is the classic.
- Tajín Classic Seasoning is great on mango, pineapple, and watermelon.
- Citrus Jalapeño Salt gives the strawberry bowl a little heat.
Garnish with lime wheels, strawberry halves, and short paper straws in fiesta colors. Each 4 oz rim package rims about 40 drinks.
Food ideas
Build a taco bar and let guests fill their own plates.
- Street tacos with carne asada, chicken, and grilled veggies
- Chips with salsa, guacamole, and queso
- Elote or street corn cups
- Rice, charro beans, and a big salad
- Churros or tres leches cake for dessert
Games and activities
- Piñata: the classic finale. Fill it with candy and small toys for the kids.
- Lotería style bingo: print picture cards and use pinto beans as markers.
- Salsa contest: guests bring a homemade salsa and everyone votes.
- Maraca making: fill plastic eggs with rice and tape them to spoons for the kids.
Printables
Make a colorful invitation on our party invite page with "Fiesta" in big letters. Then print:

Planning note
One machine serves up to 100 guests, and one mix serves about 20. A margarita mix makes about 75 frozen drinks and takes 1 to 2 bottles of tequila, which you provide. We set up 2 to 3 hours before the party, and the first batch freezes in 2 to 3 hours. Have a standard 110 volt outlet on its own circuit and a garden hose ready. Planning a Cinco de Mayo fiesta?
