Watch party themes for football, awards, and finals

Plan a watch party theme with a two-bowl frozen drink machine: team color or awards night flavors, a kids slushie bowl, food, games, and printables.

Two margarita machines on a bar at a party

A watch party theme works for football, awards shows, and finals: fill a two-bowl frozen drink machine with team color flavors for game day or bubbly flavors for awards night. Keep one bowl alcohol-free so kids and drivers have a frozen drink too.

The look

Football and finals

Go all in on team colors: jerseys, pennants, and a turf runner under the machine. Set up seating with a clear view of the screen and put the drink table where people can reach it during commercials without blocking the view.

Awards night

Roll out a red carpet (a red paper runner works), add gold balloons, and set up a step and repeat photo wall. Ask guests to dress up.

The two bowls

Game day by team color

Team color Slushie (all ages) Grown up option
Orange Orange Mango Mango Margarita
Red or maroon Cherry Bomb Strawberry Margarita
Blue Blue Raspberry Blue Lemon Gold Margarita
Green Green Sour Apple Lime Margarita
Gold Lemonade Lemon Gold Margarita

Lime Margarita in one bowl and a team color slushie in the other covers most game day crowds.

Awards night

Option Bowl 1 Bowl 2
Red carpet Frosé Peach Bellini
Gold statue Lemon Gold Margarita Peach Bellini
Classic Lime Margarita Frosé

Kids slushie bowl

Every mix is alcohol-free until you add alcohol, so any team color slushie works for kids. Label the bowls "21 and up" and "Kids slushie," or rent a second machine for a big crowd so the kids get two colors.

Rim and garnish

  • Tajín Classic Seasoning on lime and mango for game day
  • Citrus Jalapeño Salt for a spicy Texas touch
  • Chocolate Cocktail Sugar on Frosé or kids cups

Garnish with lime wheels on game day and a strawberry on awards night.

Food ideas

  • Game day: wings, queso, nachos, sliders, and a seven layer dip
  • Awards night: popcorn bar, charcuterie, mini desserts, and finger foods
  • Finals: the host city's signature food for fun

Games and activities

  • Bingo cards: squares for touchdowns, penalties, acceptance speech tears, or long speeches.
  • Squares grid: for bragging rights and first refill, no money.
  • Awards ballot: guests predict winners, and the best score picks the next batch flavor.
  • Halftime cornhole: a quick tournament during the break.

Printables

Make the invitation on our party invite page. Then print:

  • Bowl labels in team colors
  • Bingo cards and an awards ballot
  • A squares grid

Planning note

Our machines are booked out Nov 21 to Dec 3, 2026, which covers Thanksgiving week, so plan football parties outside those dates. One machine serves up to 100 guests, and one mix serves about 20. We set up 2 to 3 hours before kickoff or the red carpet, and the first batch takes 2 to 3 hours to freeze. Plug the machine into an outlet on its own circuit, not the one running the TV and sound system.
